(a) General rule.-- A city is declared to be a body corporate and politic, shall have perpetual succession and may: (1) Sue and be sued. (2) Have and use a corporate seal and alter the seal. The seal shall have upon it the word "Pennsylvania," the name of the city and the year of its original incorporation. (3) Display the flag of the United States, the Commonwealth or any county, city, borough or other municipality in this Commonwealth on the public buildings of the city. (4) Appropriate money and accept gifts or grants of money, other property or services from public or private sources for the exercise of powers expressed or implied in this chapter or any other applicable law. (b) Exercise of powers.-- The powers granted in this chapter shall be exercised in the manner provided in this chapter.
