(1) A person commits the offense of transfer of documents for the purposes of misrepresentation if the person: (a) Manufactures, produces, sells, offers for sale or transfers to another person any document purporting to be a certified copy of a record of a live birth, certificate of baptism, driver license or any other document designated by the Department of Transportation by rule as acceptable for establishing age or identity; and (b) Knows or has reason to know that the document may be used to represent a person as another person in obtaining documents issued by a government agency to grant driving privileges or for identification purposes. (2) The offense described in this section, transfer of documents for purposes of misrepresentation, is a Class A misdemeanor.
