(1) A person commits the offense of forging, altering or unlawfully producing or using vehicle titles or registration if the person does any of the following: (a) Alters or forges or causes to be altered or forged any certificate of title, certificate of registration or assignment thereof issued by the Department of Transportation. (b) Holds or uses certificate of title, certificate of registration or assignment thereof issued by the department knowing the certificate or assignment has been altered or forged. (c) Unless authorized by the department, prints or produces or causes to be printed or produced any certificate of title, certificate of registration or any assignment thereof required by the department. (d) Holds or uses any certificate of title, certificate of registration or assignment thereof required by the department knowing that it has been printed or produced without authority from the department. (2) The offense described in this section, forging, altering or unlawfully producing or using vehicle titles or registration, is a Class C felony. REGISTRATION (Generally)
