(1) The Health Licensing Office may issue a license to practice genetic counseling to an applicant who: (a) Is at least 18 years of age; (b) Is certified by a national certification organization for genetic counselors approved by the office by rule; (c) Pays a licensure fee; and (d) Meets other requirements established by the office by rule. (2) The office may adopt rules establishing a process for issuing a temporary license to practice genetic counseling, including but not limited to rules establishing qualifications and fees for temporary licensure.
