(1) The Director of the Department of Consumer and Business Services shall develop and make available to medical service providers informational materials about the workers compensation system including, but not limited to, the management of indemnity claims, standards for the authorization of temporary disability benefits, return to work responsibilities and programs, and workers compensation rules and procedures for medical service providers. (2) Prior to providing compensable medical services or authorizing temporary disability benefits under ORS 656.245, a medical service provider must certify, in a form acceptable to the director, that the medical service provider has reviewed the materials developed under this section. (3) As used in this section, medical service provider means a: (a) Doctor or physician licensed by the State Board of Chiropractic Examiners for the State of Oregon under ORS chapter 684 or a similarly licensed doctor or physician in any country or in any state, territory or possession of the United States; (b) Physician associate licensed by the Oregon Medical Board in accordance with ORS 677.505 to 677.525 or a similarly licensed physician associate in any country or in any state, territory or possession of the United States; or (c) Doctor of naturopathy or naturopathic physician licensed by the Oregon Board of Naturopathic Medicine under ORS chapter 685 or a similarly licensed doctor or physician in any country or in any state, territory or possession of the United States.
