Any rule or order of the governing board of the State Department of Geology and Mineral Industries providing for the unit operation of a geothermal resource area may include provisions for: (1) Division of a reservoir into zones; (2) Establishment of spacing units, including a description of their location, size and shape; (3) The integration of separately owned tracts or interests within a spacing unit, the development and operation of the spacing unit and the sharing of production; (4) The protection of existing and future beneficial uses of water; (5) Maintenance of the renewability of geothermal resources and any other natural resources; and (6) Any additional provisions the board considers necessary for carrying out the provisions of this chapter or for protection of the public health, safety and welfare.
