(1) The Department of Environmental Quality may limit, prohibit or otherwise restrict the storage, treatment or disposal of any hazardous waste if appropriate to protect public health, welfare or safety or the environment or to prolong the useful life of a hazardous waste disposal site. (2) The department shall monitor the origin and volume of hazardous waste received at a hazardous waste treatment or disposal site and may curtail or reduce the volume of the wastes that may be accepted for disposal as necessary to prolong the useful life of the site. (3) The department may restrict or prohibit the disposal of nonhazardous liquid waste in a hazardous waste disposal site. [Formerly 459.640; 1987 c.540 13]
