(1) The governing body of a water authority shall be a board of directors of five or seven members. (2) The term of office of a director of a water authority is four years. (3) Any elector residing within the proposed water authority is qualified to be a member of the board of directors of the authority. (4) Notwithstanding subsection (3) of this section, a person who is an employee of a water authority is not qualified to serve as a director of the water authority by which the person is employed.
