(1) As used in this section, veteran means a person who is: (a) A resident of Oregon; and (b) A veteran as defined in ORS 408.225. (2) The Department of Veterans Affairs shall provide, in written or electronic format, educational materials on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of hepatitis C in veterans who are at high risk of contracting the disease. (3) The department shall make the materials available to all veterans and health care providers. (4) The materials shall include: (a) The recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the American Liver Foundation relating to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of hepatitis C; and (b) Information from other groups that the department believes present reliable information concerning the increased risk to veterans of contracting hepatitis C. Note: 408.350 was enacted into law by the Legislative Assembly but was not added to or made a part of ORS chapter 408 or any series therein by legislative action.
