(1) As used in this section, school of higher education means: (a) Any public university listed in ORS 352.002. (b) Any community college as defined in ORS 341.005. (2) No student shall be refused admission to a school of higher education or be expelled from such a school for the sole reason that, because of religious beliefs, the student is unable to attend classes on a particular day. (3) Any student in a school of higher education who, because of religious beliefs, is unable to attend classes on a particular day shall be excused on that day from any examination, study requirement or work requirement. However, at the students own expense the student shall make up the examination, study requirement or work requirement missed because of the absence. [Formerly 352.370]
