Oregon Code § ORS 34.170

Answer or motion to dismiss by defendant

On the return day of the alternative writ, or such further day as the court or judge thereof may allow, the defendant on whom the writ was served may show cause by motion to dismiss or answer to the writ, in the same manner as to a complaint in an action. [Amended by 1979 c.284 70]
