Cancellation of unpaid taxes after deed to state in liquidation of loan

Whenever the Department of State Lands receives a deed to the State of Oregon of lands covered by a mortgage given to secure a loan from the Common School Fund in liquidation of the debt represented by the loan, the department shall send a written notice of the transaction to the county court of the county in which such deeded lands are situated. Upon the receipt of such notice, the county court shall cancel on the county tax records unpaid taxes levied and assessed against such property in that county. This section does not apply to tax liens of irrigation or drainage districts organized prior to the effective date of the lien of the department.
