(1) Unless authorized by the State Treasurer, the state government, as defined in ORS 174.111, may not accept payments using cryptocurrency. (2) As used in this section, cryptocurrency means digital or virtual currency that relies on cryptography to effect transfers and a decentralized network to record transactions.
