Open in Lexace · Ask the AI about this section
This section applies when the city legislative body has not dispensed with submitting the question of annexation to the electors of the city. If the city legislative body finds that a majority of the votes cast in the territory and a majority of the votes cast in the city favor annexation, then the legislative body, by resolution or ordinance, shall proclaim those annexations which have received a majority of the votes cast in both the city and the territory. The proclamation shall contain a legal description of each territory annexed. [Amended by 1983 c.350 35; 1985 c.702 10]
