(1) A person commits the crime of criminal simulation if: (a) With intent to defraud, the person makes or alters any object in such a manner that it appears to have an antiquity, rarity, source or authorship that it does not in fact possess; or (b) With knowledge of its true character and with intent to defraud, the person utters or possesses an object so simulated. (2) Criminal simulation is a Class A misdemeanor.
