Whenever, pursuant to ORS chapter 180, the Attorney General is requested to represent a judge of the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, Oregon Tax Court or circuit court and declines to do so, the judge may, subject to the provisions of ORS 30.260 to 30.300 and 30.310 to 30.400, employ private counsel as provided under ORS 1.560.
