Title 82. Waters And Water Rights: Purpose of district - Activities

Public regional water districts may be organized under this act
for the purpose of engaging in the following activities:
1.  Acquiring water rights or acquiring and developing water
facilities or any interest therein, from any and all available
sources, and storing water in reservoirs or other storage
facilities;
2.  Purifying, treating and processing water;
3.  Furnishing water to public agencies and persons desiring the
same;
4.  Transporting and delivering water to public agencies and
persons who are furnished water by the district;
5.  Disposing of, processing, treating or transporting sewage or
wastewater or acquiring and developing sewage facilities or any
interest therein; and
6.  Engaging in such activities and projects deemed necessary by
the district tocarry out the purposes of this act, including
acquisition, planning, purchase, construction, lease, operation,
maintenance, improvement, repair and extension of water facilities
or sewage facilities, or the provision of administrative and support
services to public agencies which are signatories to the interlocal
agreement creating the district.
