schedules. A. In order to provide increased services to the public, to assist state employees in meeting the needs of their families, improve employee morale and productivity, appointing authorities are encouraged to consider the adoption of flextime attendance policies and alternative work schedules. B. For purposes of this section, "flextime" means a regular, eight-hour-day work schedule that permits the use of alternative starting and ending times within limits set by the appointing authority and that includes a common work period during which all employees are expected to be present. C. The Director of the Office of Management and Enterprise Services shall provide technical assistance to agencies in developing flextime policies and alternative work schedules and shall promulgate rules pursuant to the Administrative Procedures Act as necessary for such policies.
