Title 70. Schools: Coordinated education services to families of

recipients of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families - Pilot
projects - Consideration of proposals.

A.  The State Board of Education shall solicit proposals for,
and if funds are available make grants for, pilot projects that make
coordinated educational services available to families of recipients
of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).  Such proposals
shall be prepared in cooperation with personnel of the Department of
Human Services and shall address the needs of preschool children,
dropouts, and adult members of such families who have not graduated
from high school or completed a high school equivalency program.
B.  The State Board of Education shall determine pilot project
criteria and establish a process for the consideration of proposals.
Such proposals for pilot projects shall be considered on a statewide
competitive basis.  The State Board of Education is authorized to
promulgate rules for the operation of such projects.  To the extent
that funds are available, funding of projects approved shall include
monies to provide child care while older members of families are
receiving TANF services from the pilot project.
