Title 69. Roads, Bridges, And Ferries: Transportation Commission - Name change

A.  The State Highway Commission, created in Section 301 of
Title 69 of the Oklahoma Statutes, shall hereafter be known as the
Transportation Commission.  Except as specifically provided, this
act shall not be construed to alter the present terms, districts,
membership, method of appointment, powers and duties of the State
Highway Commission hereinafter referred to as the Transportation
Commission.  Any statutory references to the State Highway
Commission shall mean the Transportation Commission as redesignated
herein.  The Commission shall be the governing and policymaking body
for the Department of Transportation and shall determine the
policies, plans and programs for accomplishment of the purposes of
this act.  It shall be the duty of and the Commission shall be
empowered to develop plans and programs for an efficient, safe
system of transportation for the State of Oklahoma at reasonable
cost to the people.
B.  The Commission is authorized and empowered to prescribe all
necessary procedures for carrying out its objectives and to
administer the affairs of the Department.
