Title 63. Public Health And Safety: Use of personal flotation devices

A.  1.  The operator of a vessel less than twenty-six (26) feet
in length, while under way, shall require each passenger who is
twelve (12) years of age or younger to wear a personal flotation
device.
2.  Any person operating or manipulating, or who is a passenger
on a personal watercraft, water skis, a sailboard or a similar
device shall wear a personal flotation device approved and designed
for the activity in which the person is engaged.
B.  Each personal flotation device shall be in good and
serviceable condition, of the type prescribed by the United States
Coast Guard and of a size suitable to the person who is or will be
wearing it.  A ski belt is not a United States Coast Guard approved
personal flotation device.
