Title 56. Poor Persons: Department of Human Services - Responsibilities and duties

A.  The Department of Human Services shall have the following
responsibilities:
1.  Establish and review the eligibility standards and criteria
for:
a. participation by hospitals and clinics pursuant to the
Indigent Health Care Act, and
b. reimbursement to clinics for services through the
Indigent Health Care Fund;
2.  Establish and review the screening criteria and procedures
for persons receiving services through participating hospitals and
clinics in order to determine which persons are eligible for
reimbursement pursuant to existing state and federal medical
programs and which persons are eligible for reimbursement pursuant
to the Oklahoma Indigent Health Care Act;
3.  Review the documentation provided by participating hospitals
and clinics;
4.  Determine the types of services offered by participating
hospitals and clinics that shall be eligible for reimbursement or
the allocation of funds pursuant to state or federal medical
programs and the Oklahoma Indigent Health Care Act and that such
services have been approved by the proper regulatory agencies; and
5.  Disburse state monies to hospitals and clinics meeting
requirements of the Oklahoma Indigent Health Care Act as provided by
Section 66 of this title.

B.  The Commission for Human Services shall promulgate rules and
regulations, as necessary and appropriate, to implement the
provisions of the Indigent Health Care Act.
