A.  It is the purpose and policy of the Oklahoma Adult Companion
Home Certification Act to ensure maintenance of minimum standards
for the care and protection of adults with intellectual or
developmental disabilities, and to encourage and assist adult
companion homes in achieving maximum standards.
B.  In order to provide care for adults with intellectual or
developmental disabilities in adult companion homes, a certificate
shall be obtained from the Department of Human Services.  Such
certificate shall be issued on the basis of meeting minimum
standards which are essential for the health and welfare of any
adult with intellectual or developmental disabilities placed for
care in such home.
