Title 45. Mines And Mining: Declaration of policy

It is hereby declared to be the policy of this state to provide
for the reclamation and conservation of land subjected to surface
disturbance by mining and thereby to preserve natural resources, to
encourage the productive use of such lands after mining, to aid in
the protection of wildlife and aquatic resources, to encourage the
planting of trees, grasses and other vegetation, to establish
recreational, home and industrial sites, to protect and perpetuate
the taxable value of property, to aid in the prevention of erosion,
landslides, floods and the pollution of waters and air, to protect
the natural beauty and aesthetic values in the affected areas of
this state, and to protect and promote the health, safety and
general welfare of the people of this state.
