Title 40. Labor: Reciprocal agreements with labor departments of other

A.  The Commissioner of Labor may enter into reciprocal
agreements with the Labor Department or corresponding agency of
another state, or with the person, board, officer, or commission
authorized to act on behalf of that department or agency having
jurisdiction for the collection of wages unlawfully withheld from
employees by out-of-state employers and for the collection of other
debts lawfully owed to the State Department of Labor.

B.  The Commissioner of Labor shall, upon the written request of
the Department of Labor or other corresponding agency of any other
state or of any person, board, officer or commission of such state
authorized to act for and on behalf of such labor department or
corresponding agency, maintain actions in the courts of this state
upon assigned claims for wages, judgments and demands arising in
such other state in the same manner and to the same extent that such
actions by the Commissioner of Labor are authorized when arising in
this state; provided, however, that such actions may be commenced
and maintained only in those cases where such other state by
appropriate legislation or by reciprocal agreement extends a like
comity to cases arising in the state.
