Title 29. Game And Fish: Removal and disposition of dead fish

A.  Any person who catches or obtains fish in any manner
whatsoever from the waters of this state and such fish are dead when
taken, or die as a result of such act, shall remove those fish from
such waters and shall bury or burn them, except nothing in this

section shall prevent noncommercial fishermen from returning fish
remains to the lakes and reservoirs of this state.
B.  No person may bury or burn any such dead fish in any place
where they are liable to become exposed through erosion or where
such land is at any time subject to overflow.
C.  Any person convicted of violating the provisions of this
section shall be punished by the imposition of a fine of not less
than One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) nor more than One Thousand
Dollars ($1,000.00), or be imprisoned in the county jail for not
more than one (1) year, or by both such fine and imprisonment, and
shall further reimburse a state agency for the costs that agency
incurred in the authorized clearing of the waters and/or land of
those dead fish.
