Oklahoma Code § 19-902.10

Title 19. Counties And County Officers: Actions and proceedings to enforce act

The board of directors is hereby authorized and empowered to
institute and maintain, or appear and defend, any and all actions
and proceedings, suits at law or in equity, necessary or proper to
fully carry out the provisions of the Oklahoma Rural Road
Improvement District Act, or to enforce, maintain, protect or
preserve any and all rights or privileges conferred hereby, or
acquired in pursuance hereof.  Actions and proceedings shall be
prosecuted and defended in the corporate name of the district, and
the board is empowered to employ attorneys to represent the district
in any such actions or proceedings, or to advise the board in
respect of its duties under this act.
