Title 11. Cities And Towns: Notice of maturity of installments

A.  The municipal clerk shall, not less than thirty (30) days
and not more than forty (40) days before the maturity of any
installment of an assessment, publish in two (2) successive issues
of a daily newspaper, or in one (1) issue of a weekly newspaper,

which is of general circulation in the municipality, a notice which:
1.  Advises the owners of the land affected by the assessment of the
date when the installment and interest will be due;
2.  Designates the street, streets, or other public places for
the improvement of which the assessments have been levied; and
3.  States that unless the installment and interest shall be
promptly paid, the installment and interest shall bear interest at
the rate of twelve percent (12%) per annum thereafter until paid,
and that proceedings will be taken according to law to collect the
installment and interest.
B.  In addition to publication of the notice of maturity of
installments, the municipality may also notify each owner of land
affected by the assessment at his address as shown on the Assessment
Record by mailing a postal card directly to the owner reciting the
facts contained in the published notice, or by mailing to the owner
a copy of the newspaper publication.
