Title 11. Cities And Towns: Consideration of initiative petitions by governing body

When an initiative petition demands the enactment of an
ordinance or resolution, the mayor shall present the petition to the
municipal legislative body at its next meeting.  If the petition is
not granted more than thirty (30) days before the next general
municipal election or biennial or special town meeting if the
municipality is subject to the Oklahoma Town Meeting Act, the mayor
shall submit the ordinance or act so petitioned to the registered
voters of the municipality at the next general municipal election or
biennial town meeting, whichever is appropriate.
