The counselor, social worker, and marriage and family therapist board shall approve one or more continuing education courses of study that assist social workers, independent social workers, social work assistants, independent marriage and family therapists, marriage and family therapists, licensed professional clinical counselors, licensed professional counselors, art therapists, and music therapists in recognizing the signs of domestic violence and its relationship to child abuse. Social workers, independent social workers, social work assistants, independent marriage and family therapists, marriage and family therapists, licensed professional clinical counselors, licensed professional counselors, art therapists, and music therapists are not required to take the courses.
