Effective: December 29, 2023 Latest Legislation: Senate Bill 131 - 134th General Assembly (A) The state medical board shall issue, without examination, a visiting podiatric faculty certificate to any nonresident person who holds a current, unrestricted license to practice podiatric medicine and surgery issued by another state or country and has been appointed to serve in this state on the academic staff of an approved college of podiatric medicine and surgery in good standing, as determined by the board. The board shall not require a nonresident person who holds a license in another state to obtain a license under Chapter 4796. of the Revised Code. (B) An applicant for a visiting podiatric faculty certificate shall submit evidence satisfactory to the board that the applicant meets the requirements of division (A) of this section. (C) The holder of a visiting podiatric faculty certificate may practice podiatric medicine and surgery only as is incidental to the certificate holder's teaching duties at the college or the teaching hospitals affiliated with the college. The board may revoke a certificate on receiving proof satisfactory to the board that the holder of the certificate has engaged in practice in this state outside the scope of the certificate or that there are grounds for action against the certificate holder under section 4731.22 of the Revised Code. (D) A visiting podiatric faculty certificate is valid for the shorter of one year or the duration of the holder's appointment to the academic staff of the college. The certificate may not be renewed.
