Effective: April 12, 2021 Latest Legislation: Senate Bill 68 - 133rd General Assembly Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, the registrar of motor vehicles may conduct or authorize a deputy registrar to conduct any service or transaction authorized or required by law in an electronic or online format rather than in person. The registrar or deputy registrar shall charge the same amount for the electronic or online service or transaction as the registrar or deputy registrar charges for the associated in-person transaction. The registrar or deputy registrar may accept payment for any such service or transaction by a financial transaction device. The registrar or deputy registrar may charge a person who tenders payment for an online service or transaction by means of a financial transaction device any costs the registrar or deputy registrar incurs from accepting payment by the financial transaction device.
