Effective: September 8, 2016 Latest Legislation: House Bill 523 - 131st General Assembly The department of commerce shall establish and maintain an electronic database to monitor medical marijuana from its seed source through its cultivation, processing, testing, and dispensing. The department may contract with a separate entity to establish and maintain all or any part of the electronic database on behalf of the department. The electronic database shall allow for information regarding medical marijuana to be updated instantaneously. Any cultivator, processor, retail dispensary, or laboratory licensed under this chapter shall submit to the department any information the department determines is necessary for maintaining the electronic database. The department and any entity under contract with the department shall not make public any information reported to or collected by the department under this division that identifies or would tend to identify any specific patient.
