Effective: March 23, 2022 Latest Legislation: House Bill 29 - 134th General Assembly (A) The director of administrative services shall engage an independent consultant to conduct a study to determine whether, and the extent to which, qualified persons experience discrimination or disadvantage in the sports gaming industry on the basis of their membership in a racial minority group, their color or ethnicity, their gender, or their disability. The director shall provide the results of the study to the Ohio casino control commission and shall inform the commission whether, in the director's opinion, the results of the study warrant action by the commission under division (B) of this section. (B) If the commission determines that the results of the study described in division (A) of this section so warrant, the commission shall establish goals to ensure that sports gaming licenses are issued to applicants described in division (A) of this section on an equitable basis with other applicants and shall disseminate information about the commission's licensing goals through targeted media. (C) The commission may require, by rule, that sports gaming proprietors pay the cost of disseminating information through targeted media under division (B) of this section.
