Effective: April 6, 2017 Latest Legislation: Senate Bill 332 - 131st General Assembly (A) Except as provided in division (B) of this section, each hospital that has a maternity unit licensed under Chapter 3711. of the Revised Code shall modify operational processes not later than three months after the effective date of this section or three months after commencing operations, as applicable, to ensure that a woman giving birth in the hospital has the option of having a long-acting reversible contraceptive placed after delivery and before the woman is discharged. (B) A hospital is exempt from the requirement in division (A) of this section if the hospital notifies the department of health in writing that it has a faith-based objection to the requirement.
