Effective: October 1, 1953 Latest Legislation: House Bill 1 - 100th General Assembly When a house or other place is quarantined because of contagious diseases, the board of health of the city or general health district shall provide, for all persons confined in such house or place, food, fuel, and all other necessaries of life, including medical attendance, medicine, and nurses when necessary. The expenses so incurred, except those for disinfection, quarantine, or other measures strictly for the protection of the public health, when properly certified by the president and clerk of the board, or health commissioner if there is no board, shall be paid by the persons quarantined, when able to make such payment, and when not, by the municipal corporation or township in which quarantined.
