Effective: October 3, 2023 Latest Legislation: House Bill 33 - 135th General Assembly This section does not apply to preschool children with disabilities. (A) As used in this section, the "total special education amount" for an institution means the following: (1) For fiscal years 2024 and 2025, the sum of the following amounts: (a) The number of children certified by the institution under division (G)(1)(a)(i) of section 3317.03 of the Revised Code as receiving services for a disability described in division (A) of section 3317.013 of the Revised Code multiplied by the multiple specified in that division multiplied by the statewide average base cost per pupil; (b) The number of children certified by the institution under division (G)(1)(a)(i) of section 3317.03 of the Revised Code as receiving services for a disability described in division (B) of section 3317.013 of the Revised Code multiplied by the multiple specified in that division multiplied by the statewide average base cost per pupil; (c) The number of children certified by the institution under division (G)(1)(a)(i) of section 3317.03 of the Revised Code as receiving services for a disability described in division (C) of section 3317.013 of the Revised Code multiplied by the multiple specified in that division multiplied by the statewide average base cost per pupil; (d) The number of children certified by the institution under division (G)(1)(a)(i) of section 3317.03 of the Revised Code as receiving services for a disability described in division (D) of section 3317.013 of the Revised Code multiplied by the multiple specified in that division multiplied by the statewide average base cost per pupil; (e) The number of children certified by the institution under division (G)(1)(a)(i) of section 3317.03 of the Revised Code as receiving services for a disability described in division (E) of section 3317.013 of the Revised Code multiplied by the multiple specified in that division multiplied by the statewide average base cost per pupil; (f) The number of children certified by the institution under division (G)(1)(a)(i) of section 3317.03 of the Revised Code as receiving services for a disability described in division (F) of section 3317.013 of the Revised Code multiplied by the multiple specified in that division multiplied by the statewide average base cost per pupil. (2) For fiscal year 2026 and each fiscal year thereafter, the sum of the following amounts: (a) An amount calculated in a manner determined by the general assembly times the number of children certified by the institution under division (G)(1)(a)(i) of section 3317.03 of the Revised Code as receiving services for a disability described in division (A) of section 3317.013 of the Revised Code; (b) An amount calculated in a manner determined by the general assembly times the number of children certified by the institution under division (G)(1)(a)(i) of section 3317.03 of the Revised Code as receiving services for a disability described in division (B) of section 3317.013 of the Revised Code; (c) An amount calculated in a manner determined by the general assembly times the number of children certified by the institution under division (G)(1)(a)(i) of section 3317.03 of the Revised Code as receiving services for a disability described in division (C) of section 3317.013 of the Revised Code; (d) An amount calculated in a manner determined by the general assembly times the number of children certified by the institution under division (G)(1)(a)(i) of section 3317.03 of the Revised Code as receiving services for a disability described in division (D) of section 3317.013 of the Revised Code; (e) An amount calculated in a manner determined by the general assembly times the number of children certified by the institution under division (G)(1)(a)(i) of section 3317.03 of the Revised Code as receiving services for a disability described in division (E) of section 3317.013 of the Revised Code; (f) An amount calculated in a manner determined by the general assembly times the number of children certified by the institution under division (G)(1)(a)(i) of section 3317.03 of the Revised Code as receiving services for a disability described in division (F) of section 3317.013 of the Revised Code. (B) For each fiscal year, the department of education and workforce shall pay each state institution required to provide special education services under division (A) of section 3323.091 of the Revised Code an amount equal to the institution's total special education amount.
