Effective: November 15, 1995 Latest Legislation: Senate Bill 91 - 121st General Assembly As used in sections 2969.01 to 2969.06 of the Revised Code: (A) "Offender" means a person who pleads guilty to, is convicted of, or is found not guilty by reason of insanity of an offense in this state or a person against whom a complaint or information has been filed or an indictment has been returned in this state. (B) "Victim" means a person who suffers personal injury, death, or property loss as a result of any of the following, or the beneficiaries of an action for the wrongful death of any person killed as a result of any of the following: (1) An offense; (2) The good faith effort of a person to prevent an offense; (3) The good faith effort of any person to apprehend a person suspected of engaging in an offense. (C) "Member of the family of an offender" means an individual who is related by consanguinity or affinity to an offender.
