Effective: May 22, 2012 Latest Legislation: House Bill 267 - 129th General Assembly An unincorporated nonprofit association may acquire, hold, encumber, or transfer in its name an estate or interest in real or personal property. An unincorporated nonprofit association may be a legatee, a devisee, or a beneficiary of a trust or contract. All property acquired by an unincorporated nonprofit association by purchase, gift, devise, bequest, or otherwise shall be the absolute property of the association, unless it is otherwise specified in writing at the time of acquiring that property.
