Effective: March 18, 1999 Latest Legislation: Senate Bill 187 - 122nd General Assembly There is hereby established in the department of natural resources the Ohio ginseng management program, which shall be administered by the chief of the division of wildlife. The program shall be administered to achieve and maintain a sustained yield of ginseng so that harvesting of the plant is not detrimental to the survival of the species. The chief shall do all things necessary to regulate the harvesting of wild ginseng and the buying, possession, transportation, sale, offering for sale, or exposure for sale of wild or cultivated ginseng.
