Effective: October 1, 1953 Latest Legislation: House Bill 1 - 100th General Assembly In the absence of any forest-fire warden to take control of wildfire, any person may kindle a fire at any time on his own land, public land, or the land of another with the consent of the owner or occupant thereof for the purpose of backfiring to protect property from the threatened and immediate injury of a wildfire.
