Effective: April 7, 2009 Latest Legislation: House Bill 450 - 127th General Assembly (A) As used in this section: (1) "Funeral honors detail" means a funeral honors detail as described in the "National Defense Authorization Act of 2003," 116 Stat. 2556, 10 U.S.C. 1491. (2) "State employee" means a state employee who is trained to participate in a funeral honors detail at the funeral of a veteran and who is a retired or active member of the armed forces of the United States or of a reserve component of the armed forces of the United States, including the Ohio national guard. (B) A state employee is entitled to a maximum of twenty hours of paid leave for those hours the employee is absent from work in order to participate in a funeral honors detail at the funeral of a veteran.
