(A) For the purpose of providing impartial, accurate information to assist the general assembly in proposing and evaluating legislation, the speaker of the house of representatives or the president of the senate may, at any time, request the director of the legislative service commission to arrange for data analytics to be conducted on any publicly available information regarding state banks, credit unions organized under Chapter 1733. of the Revised Code, or entities licensed or registered under Chapter 1321. or 1322. of the Revised Code.
(B) The director may, in making the arrangement described in division (A) of this section, retain economists, financial analysts, and any other necessary professionals on a consulting basis.
(C) As used in this section, "data analytics" means the use of qualitative and quantitative techniques to examine data to gain a better understanding of the data itself and the organizations that produced it.
