1. The legislative council shall provide information technology research and staff services to the legislative branch. The services must be provided in accordance with the existing statutory authority of the legislative council and within the framework of its other staff services. 2. The legislative council shall provide information technology services, may hire such staff as are necessary, and set compensation for any additional staff within the limits of legislative appropriations. 3. The legislative council shall structure the provision of information technology services and assistance to the legislative assembly and shall receive such cooperation and assistance from other state agencies as the council reasonably may request.
