1. A violation of this chapter is an unlawful practice in violation of section 51 -15-02 and is subject to applicable provisions of chapter 51-15. 2. A person who intentionally violates this chapter is guilty of a class C felony. It is evidence of intent if the violation occurs after the attorney general has notified a person by certified mail that the person is in violation of this section. 3. A person suffering pecuniary loss because of an intentional violation of this chapter may bring an action in district court to recover costs, reasonable attorney's fees, and the greater of five hundred dollars or twice the amount of the pecuniary loss. 4. This chapter provides relief in addition to the remedies or penalties provided under other law.
