The board has the following duties: 1. To enforce the provisions and carry out the purposes of this chapter. 2. To make and enforce such rules and regulations consistent with law as may be necessary for the proper performance of its duties; the effective enforcement of this chapter; the reasonable regulation of the profession of optometry and the practice thereof by persons licensed under this chapter; and to protect the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of this state. 3. To proceed in the courts of this state by injunction when considered necessary to restrain any violation of this chapter. 4. To establish the following by rule: a. Application fees; b. License fees; c. Renewal fees; d. Late fees; e. Endorsement fees; f. Licensure verification fee; g. Decorative wall certificate fee; and h. Continuing education fees.
