1. A permit is deemed expired if: a. The work authorized by the permit is not commenced within six months after the date on which the permit is issued or within a shorter period as specified on the permit; or b. After the work has commenced, the work is suspended or abandoned for sixty days or a shorter time specified on the permit. 2. The board may allow an extension under subsection 1.
