Interpretation of representations regarding insurance

A representation is to be interpreted by the general rules of contract interpretation. A 
representation as to the future is a promise unless the representation appears that it was merely 
a statement of belief or expectation. A representation cannot qualify an express provision in an 
insurance contract, but it may qualify an implied warranty.
