When void. An applicant may qualify as a resident if the applicant resides in this state or maintains the applicant's principal place of business in this state. A license issued pursuant to an application claiming residency for licensing purposes constitutes an election of residency in this state. A license is void if the licensee, while holding a resident license in this state, also holds or applies for a resident license from, or thereafter claims to be a resident of, any other state or other jurisdiction or ceases to be a resident of this state.
