1. This chapter applies to fire, marine, inland marine, hail, windstorm, cyclone, tornado, explosion, water damage, and all other forms of insurance on property, and the loss of use and occupancy thereof, and to casualty insurance, including fidelity, surety, and guaranty bonds, and all other forms of motor vehicle insurance, as defined and set forth in subsections 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, and 7 of section 26.1 -12-11 and in subsections 1, 2, 5, 6, and 7 of section 26.1 -05-02, except as hereinafter excluded. Inland marine insurance is deemed to include insurance now or hereafter defined by statute, or by interpretation thereof, or if not so defined or interpreted, by ruling of the commissioner or as established by general custom of the business, as inland marine insurance.
